St Anthony's Girls' School's
History Club ran a project about health and social conditions in Sunderland
and Durham throughout the nineteenth century. This project allowed pupils to get
'hands on' experience of history research, studying primary sources
from the period. Pupils looked at maps, photographs and census
information from the time. This included an excursion to Durham Record Office
to look at material within an archives centre.
