Jack Drum Arts

Foot and Mouth (The Real Experience)

Jack Drum Arts is a community arts and small-scale touring theatre based near Barnard Castle in Co. Durham.

After informal discussions with members of the farming community the group had the backing of that community to put together an exhibition of text and photographs to help the whole community unite and look forward to the future, whilst ensuring that the foot and mouth crisis of 2001 was not forgotten.

The groups project is to ensure that the experiences of the farming community during that time are not forgotten in the course of history, and they also  wish to put the human stories at the heart of the remembering process.
