The church is situated in the centre of the village of Escomb, near
Bishop Auckland in County Durham and stands amongst trees on an
ancient Celtic site.
The Parochial Church Council
project involved the dismantling of their old porch exhibition
and replacing it with a new purpose designed graphic display
panels.
It is hoped that the new porch
exhibition will interpret the historical and archaeological
significance of this ancient and unique little church; not only for
the education of the local community, but also for students and school
children, as well as for religious groups and the thousands of
visitors from far and wide.
