A
group of pupils from Haughton Community School interviewed ex-railway
workers from North Road Locomotive Works, Darlington and these interviews
along with photographs and information from the Darlington Railway
Museum and Darlington Reference Library helped to form the basis of
an exhibition that recorded the heritage and the history of the North
Road Works.
The aim of the project was to record the memories and thoughts
of railway workers and their families who had worked at North Road
Locomotive Works, Darlington prior to its closure in April 1966.
